BRUTE FORCE

BRUTEFORCE is a collaborative design project and rendered museum exhibition exploring the ideological divergence of Brutalist architecture in divided Berlin. While both sides of the city utilized raw concrete for post-war reconstruction, the material served as a canvas for opposing narratives: socialist collectivism in the East and democratic experimentation in the West. Working in a team of four, we developed a comprehensive visual identity and immersive museum environment to juxtapose these two realities. Our work spanned a wide range of collateral—including a website homepage, tickets, social media, and billboards—utilizing heavy typography and archival imagery to show how the same material language can act as both a barrier and a bridge.
